Various Artists on this album explore the unique sound of Cape Verde. Although small, its diverse musical heritage has become internationally acclaimed. This album features the sweet melancholy of morna through to the dance rhythm of funana and batuco, with influences from the waltz and contre-dances of Europe and the rhythms of Africa, Brazil and the Caribbean.
