Jefferson Thomas is a Liberian born on the 24th day of January. His father is Mr. Paul Thomas and mother Miss. Annie Myers. Jefferson’s family comes from Grand Gedeh and Maryland Counties, but presently resides in Monrovia.

 

Jefferson was born and raised in Monrovia, but like many other Liberians, he had to leave the country during the civil crisis. He travelled to the Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea and Togo.

 

He started his primary education at the SOS Children Village School in Central Matadi, Monrovia. He completed kindergarten and transferred to the Calvary Baptist School. After four years, he left for the Ivory Coast and enrolled at the Adventist Development Relief Agency (ADRA) Refugee School.

 

After a couple of years residing in the Ivory Coast, he went to Ghana, Togo and Guinea to visit other family members there who had fled the war in Liberia. He later returned to Liberia and continued studying at the St. Thomas Elementary and Junior High School in Sinkor.

 

Within a year, he enrolled at the Monrovia College where he finally graduated in 2008 from high school.

 

Presently, he is a sophomore student at the University of Liberia reading Sociology major and Public Administration minor.

 

Jefferson Thomas is also the Secretary General of the JETZ Organization and Vice-president of the Conquerors Athletic Club.

 

As a runner in the BHP Billiton Marathon on August 28, he dedicates it to his beloved mother who has always been there for him.

·   Three time participant in the Youth for Human Rights International Leadership Campaign

·         Founder: Youth for Human Rights Club at Monrovia College

·       2008-2009: President and Vice-president for Student Council Government at Monrovia College

·         Two time second place winner on the Joint High School Research Project
