Jerry Doegblee was born and raised in Liberia. He was born unto the union of Mr. and Mrs. Doegblee in the year 1979 in Cestos City, Rivercess County.

Jerry’s father was a local chief who once worked with the Voice of America (VOA) back in 1976.

He is a devoted Christian and a member of the United Methodist Church in Liberia. He sings in the choir.

Jerry Doegblee began his education at the Nyorwein Public School in Rivercess County. He later came to Monrovia and graduated from the Kingdom Harvest Academy on Tubman Boulevard in Sinkor.

In 2007, upon his graduation from high school, he enrolled at the United Methodist University where he is currently studying Sociology and Political Science.

He has worked with the National Elections Commissions as a representative of a political party during the 2005 General and Presidential Elections.

Jerry Doegblee has dedicated his participation in the 2011 marathon to his beloved baby sister, Joetta T. Burgess, who recently graduated from the Apostolic Foundation High School in Monrovia. As her elder brother, he feels very proud of his sister’s accomplishment.
