Elizabeth Bara and husband Tom Arsenault, who met and married as Peace Corps volunteer teachers in rural Swaziland, co-founded A Self-help Assistance Program - ASAP - in 1992. Through her work with ASAP Africa, in Zimbabwe and Malawi over 25,000 people have been trained in rural microfinance,9,000 people have access to medicinal herbs, 8,600 Jatropha trees have been planted, 46,000 more students are now engaged in educational math clubs, 28,000 orphans' school fees have been paid through commodity exchange, and 145 new classrooms have been constructed. http://asapafrica.org
