A’ la Carte Restaurant overlooking the Maguga Dam Spillway, Swaziland


We at Maguga View Point invite you to visit us at the Maguga Dam, a Joint Venture between SA and Swazi Government and completed in 2003. To learn more about this magnificent Dam and Swaziland, you are welcome to browse through our Info Centre.
Our Community Craft Centre offers memento’s of your visit to the Kingdom.


The 60-seater Maguga View Point restaurant offers a simple, fuss-free menu that caters for all tastes.  Feel free to discuss special dietary requirements with John, the Owner/Chef, so that we may be able to cater specifically for your needs.

Our breakfast menu offers unique items such as John’s Aphrodisiac Flap Jack Stack!  Breakfasts are available as an All Day Menu Item.

Firm Favourites on our menu includes the Succulent Spareribs, Southern Fried Chicken, Grilled Hake, Panninis and John’s Chocolate Brownies or Pancakes.

Menu Items range from R 20.00 to R 90.00 (for a Full Portion Spare Ribs!)

Directions to Maguga View Point: Using Oshoek/ Ngwenya Border gate Drive 8kms towards Mbabane on the MR3 Take the off – ramp at Motshane – Piggs Peak Road (there are tourist signs for Maguga as you approach the off – ramp) Drive for about 32kms on the Piggs Peak road until you get to Mnyokane Junction. There is a big sign that says “Piggs Peak Alternative route via Maguga Dam” as well as another tourist signs for Maguga View Point Restaurant. You take a right at this junction From the Junction, Maguga View Point is 14kms. After you cross the dam wall, we’re on the right hand side Directions to Maguga View Point using Jeppes Reef/ Matsamo Border gate • From Pretoria, you take the N4 to Nelspruit. You drive through Nelspruit and stay on the N4 until you pass the Malelane Tollgate (approx 90kms from Nelspruit on your way to Mozambique) • Approx 5kms from the tollgate, there’s on off-ramp, with a sign post for Jeppes Reef R570. You take this off-ramp and travel to Jeppes Reef/Matsamo Border Gate, approx 50kms • Once through the border, you’ll travel 35kms towards Piggs Peak from the Border and drive straight through Piggs Peak town • 2kms out of Piggs Peak town, turn left at the Saw Mill Junction. There is a tourist sign for Maguga View Point Restaurant. • Drive until you just before you get to the Maguga Dam. Before you Cross the dam wall, we’re situated about 0.5km from the dam wall, on the left hand side. • Directions to Maguga View Point using Golela/Lavumisa Border Gate • From Durban you take the N2 towards Pongola • After you pass Mkuze, and have crossed the bridge over the Pongola River, take a right to Golela/ Lavumisa Border gate (10 kms from the turn off the N2) • Once you’ve crossed, you take the MR8, which will be marked, BigBend, Manzini. You’ll stay on the MR8, and travel about approx 130kms till you get to a T-Junction at Hhelehhele. Please note there are road works between the border and BigBend • At Hhelehhele, you take a left onto the MR3 and travel approx 11kms into Manzini • You stay on the MR3 which takes you right through Manzini town centre until you get onto the freeway. From Manzini you’ll travel approx 35kms on the MR3 to Mbabane • Once in Mbabane, you drive through the 1st two intersections. At the 3rd intersection, you will take a left. The Board will say MR3 Ngwenya/Oshoek • You drive on the MR3 through another set of road works in the Mbabane Area, approx 14kms • Once you’ve driven past the road works and are back on the freeway, you’ll take the off-ramp at Motshane, marked MR1 Piggs Peak. There will also be a tourist board for Maguga in the lead up to that off ramp • Drive for approx 35kms on the Piggs Peak road until you get to Mnyokane Junction. • There is a big sign that says “Piggs Peak Alternative route via Maguga Dam” as well as another tourist sign for Maguga View Point Restaurant. You take a right at this junction • From the Junction, Maguga View Point is 14kms. After you cross the dam wall, we’re on the right hand side
