In 2009, in a match between the Derby of Al-Ittihad and Al Ahly Tripoli, Zuway was sent off for causing trouble on the pitch with other players after scoring a second goal for Al-Ittihad. After leaving the field, he got into a brawl with Al Ahly Tripoli player Emad Aldahmani, which started from Aldahmani's racist comments to him.
