Isiye is an experienced health development and public policy professional with over 25 years of experience in Africa, Asia and the Pacific. He holds degrees from Nairobi and Newcastle Universities.
Isiye is an experienced health development and public policy professional with over 25 years experience in Africa, Asia and the Pacific. He is currently (2007-present)based in Suva, Fiji, as the UNICEF Representative to the Pacific island countries. In this position he leads the UNICEF team in supporting 14 Pacific island countries in their human development strategies, with a special focus on children. He previously (2003-2006) served as the UNICEF Representative to Papua New Guinea. Prior to that he had been UNICEF Deputy Representative in Eritrea (1994-1997) and Tanzania (1997-2003). He started his career with UNICEF as the Chief of Health in Botswana.
Prior to joining UNICEF Isiye was a Lecturer in Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of Nairobi's Medical School.
Isiye is a Medical Doctor who specialised in Paediatrics and Tropical Medicine at the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from Newcastle University in Australia.
