Uche Onyeagucha is prominently known in his native Nigeria as an environmental human rights lawyer.  He serves as a principal atttorney in Onyeagucha, Chinda & Associates, which is based in Port Harcourt.

Onyeagucha served as a member of the House of Representatives on the Nigerian National Assembly from 2003-2007.

Onyeagucha is a founding member of several environmental groups including Save Nigeria Group (2010), Environmental Rights Action/Friends of the Earth Nigeria and Oilwatch International (1998).
