Description of Work:
Théodore-Adrien Sarr is Cardinal at the Archbishop of Dakar. Born in Fadiouth on November 28, 1936, Sarr has served the Catholic church for over 30 years. He is one of the seven children born to Rog and Louis Sarr. He has studied theology, philosophy and classical classical languages at  the Major Seminary of Sébikhotane and the University of Dakar. He was ordained on May 28, 1964 by Archbishop Hyacinthe Thiandoum. 

Before being named Bishop of Kaolack in 1974, Sarr did extensive pastoral work in the Saint-Thèrese parish of Dakar. He also worked as an educator at the Minor Seminary of N'Gasobil. On June 2, 2000, Sarr was appointed as the third Archbishop of Dakar. Pope Benedict XVI named him S. Lucia a Piazza d'Ami at the end of 2007.

He is also very active in religious civil society throughout Africa.
