Organization Details
The African Women's Development and Communications Network (FEMNET) aims to strengthen the role and contribution of African NGOs concerned with women's development. Its activities include advocacy for inclusion of gender issues in national, regional, and international development agendas and monitoring and advocacy for implementation of the African and global platforms for action. FEMNET also aims to play a strong advocacy role in the area of peace together with regional, sub-regional and national peace organizations and to respond to the specific needs of network members in countries like Somalia and Sierra Leone and other trouble spots on the continent.
