Mane, a Cape Verdian man trapped in the routine of his middle-aged life, rediscovers his love of sports - and himself - when he begins coaching football. He sees himself in the members of his young team, particularly the talented but rebellious player, Kalu, and learns again how to live in the present and appreciate his own stage in life.
