On the outskirts of Oshogbo lies the Sacred Forest, a large area of rainforest and a Shrine to Oshuno, the River Goddess. The Forest is full of works of art, including many sculptures by Suzanne Wenger (known locally as Aduni Olosa, the 'Adored One'), an Austrian painter and sculptor who visited the region in the 1950s.

The Forest is a UN World Heritage Site.

The natural world is spiritual and healing for many. Regardless of which religion people practice, it's the natural world for me. I believe in God/Jah but I don't go to a church...I go to the woods, the river and wherever there is nature. I believe much of Africa was ruined by well meaning religious people years ago...and then again, religious people have also saved many people from harm. Nature costs no money, requires no book, doesn't have a time schedule , it is always present, like God.
