Kennedy Mweene who was born on December 11, 1984 in Lusaka, is arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the South African PSL having won the Premier soccer leagues Best Goalkeeper of the Year award in the 2009/ 2010 season. The player has been in big demand with all of the top SA Big spending clubs but has remained loyal to his club Free State Stars. He is currently contracted until 30 June 2014.

He is the first-choice goalkeeper for Zambia since making his debut in 2004 and was a participant at the 2006 African Nations Cup, 2008 African Nations Cup and the 2010 African Nations Cup. The player has over 75 appearances for Zambia with approximately 54 Official caps.

In 2004, Mweene played for the Lusaka Dynamos FC and then in 2005 for the Kitwe United FC.He then moved to South Africa in 2005 and played number one for the Free State Stars FC where he is presently.

He’s been playing for the Zambian national team from 2004 up to present. While playing for the national team, he has appeared in sixty international games.

The player is represented by his business manager Ryan Hartslief of Bigtime Sports management in South Africa.
