Abdelkader Laïfaoui born in Hussein Dey (Alger), Algeria) is an Algerian international football player who currently plays for ES Sétif in the Algerian Championnat National.
A central defender whose strengths are his intensity, endurance and sound positional play, Laifaoui won his first international cap back in August 2004 and then went ignored for five long years. Now he has his chance to make up for lost time with Algeria by starring for them in the biggest tournament of them all.
He has plundered many medals in his club career with Setif, including the Algerian League (2009), Arab Champions League (2008) and North African Champions Cup (2009).
"As we proved at the Cup of Nations when we beat Didier Drogba's Ivory Coast, this is a team which is never more dangerous than when we are written off," Laifaoui says. "I totally respect our opponents in South Africa this summer, but we have match winners too."
