Hocine Metref is an Algerian international football player who is currently playing as a defender and midfielder for ES Sétif.

Hocine Metref was first called -up in the Algerian A team on Oct 8 2005 aganst Gabon. Before then he had played regularly with the junior selection playing in a tournament organizes in Dohar Qatar. He played regularly in this tournament and helped Algeria finish in the fourth position.

He also played with the junior squard at theIslamic and the mediteranean games both in 2005. He became a professional footballer in 2002 after his period of trainning at USM Algiers with which he later on signed a contract in 2006. In August 2008 he signed a one year deal with second division side Dijon FCO. A contract that was canceled with a mutual agreement from both parties in November that same year. He then returned to play in the Algerian league and signing with  l´ES Sétif

Versatile defender or midfielder Hocine Metref plays his club football with ES Setif, having also turned out for USM Alger and Dijon FCO in his senior career.
Metref made his international debut for Algeria back in 2008 but has collected just a handful of caps. He did not play in any of Algeria’s 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
