Souleymanou Hamidou is a Cameroonian football goalkeeper who plays for the Turkish side Kayserispor. He was a member of the Cameroonian 2006 African Nations Cup team, who exited in the quarter-finals.

This veteran Cameroonian deputy 'keeper has spent the past decade in Turkish football with Rizespor, Denizlispor and now Kayserispor, his employers since 2008. He is renowned for his sound appreciation of angles and sharp work on his line.

Hamidou has been an Indomitable Lion since 2000 and was a member of their African Nations Cup squads in 2006, 2008 and this year, so his loyalty of service cannot be questioned. However, he is unlikely to see much action in South Africa so long as first pick Carlos Kameni remains fit and available.

He was the subject of one of the great football bloopers last year, scoring a crazy own goal, after a shot from a Trabzonspor attacker struck the bar and then bounced of his face into the net.
