Joseph Yobo is a defender for the Nigerian national team who plays club football for Everton in the UK.
Yobo's first team debut was with Belgian Standard Liege in 2000, where he went on to appear 46 times. In 2001, he moved to Marseille. Shortly thereafter, he was loaned to Portuguese Tenerife and , later, Everton, who were so imrpessed with Yobo they paid the fixed fee to have him stay at the club.
Yobo's national team debut was in the South Korea/Japan World Cup in 2002 where Nigeria played in the group stages before losing out to Sweden and Argentina.
