A talented midfielder and defender Alexandre Song Billong left Cameroon in 2003 to play for the French Ligue 1 team, Bastia. In 2005 he was loaned to the London based team Arsenal. He did so well that at the end of the season signed a four year contract. Billong made his soccer debut playing for Cameroon at the 2008 African Cup of Nations.
