Description of Work:
First serving his local government as the Chief of Staff to his country's Prime Minister, Ruhee became Ambassador to the U.S. in February of 2007, replacing Usha Jeetah.

While in Mauritius, he also held many other executive posts including Minister of Economic Planning and Development, Minister of Civil Service and Employment, and Minister of Agriculture. He taught for several years at the University of Mauritius, founded the Transparency Mauritius and of the American Chamber of Commerce in Mauritius, and was a senior partner for business development in Africa at De Chazal Du Mée and Co.

Ruhee was educated at Louisiana State University and the University of Edinburgh. He holds a Master's degree in agriculture and a minor in statistics.
