Born in Dakar, Senegal, he arrived young in France at Sochaux before landing in Rennes were he played also with the young teams. Wearing a Bolton Wanderers jersey today, he signed to Liverpool just before the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan and South Korea. He was part of the dream Senegalese team in 2002 when they attended the quarter final of the World Cup after beating France in the opening game. Today he plays in England.
