Somalia : Puntland Institute for Development of Administration and Management (PIDAM)

Mission Statement
On behalf of the Puntland Institute for Development of Administration and Management (PIDAM), faculties and staff, we would like to welcome you to the institute. PIDAM has been in the training field for 13 years – particularly in the fields of business studies including accounting, management, English language and information technology (IT). During this long period of time, PIDAM has gained valuable experience and skills to provide quality training on skill based knowledge for people who have different backgrounds and educational levels. We would like to inform you; whether you are a potential student willing to join PIDAM as a trainee or a responsible officer of an institution willing to send its employees to PIDAM for training that after 13 years of training, PIDAM has emerged to be the number one training institution in the field of Management and Administration. The demand for PIDAM training is very high and continues to grow constantly. This is because we have highly qualified and experienced teaching staff, two computer laboratories with adequate computers for the training of IT courses, modern teaching equipment such as lap top computers, LCD projectors and library for references. People also prefer to join PIDAM for low cost and quality training because PIDAM is not aimed at making business in this field but basically to impart quality training and education at an affordable cost. Besides this, PIDAM training program is based on employing organizations’ needs and expectations as well as studied general market demands. We provide diplomas to any trainees who complete the requirements for a two years program. This diploma is recognized by all local and international institutions and it has double- pronged advantages: 1. Getting jobs in Puntland as about 90 percent of PIDAM graduates get jobs with the help of the PIDAM diploma. 2. To join degree programs in East Africa University (EAU) and other national universities where PIDAM courses are fully accredited for the students, or go abroad to pursue degree programs and other professional studies. PIDAM is managed by a collective decision of the management, faculties and staff through their weekly meetings. On the other hand, PIDAM encourages students to come to the management to express their grievances or concerns so as to get advice and suggestions for the way forward. Students also get advice from each concerned faculty. PIDAM training course is to open to all Somali nationals as well as foreigners and its admission policies and procedures are readily available. Particularly, PIDAM encourages female students to join the training and provide particular incentive to pursue professions in management careers in both the private and public sectors in Puntland as well as the whole of Somalia. To conclude, it is true and no one can deny that knowledge is a key to success in political, social, economic and security aspects in this dynamic world. For this reason, we request you to read the brochure and provide us with your feedbacks.
