Focus provides extensive analysis and research on economic issues linked to the process of globalization, which impact strongly in the Asia/Pacific region, but also affect Africa.Themes include investment and financial liberalisation, with special attention to the roles of the World Trade Organization, The International Monetary Fund and regional economic organisations such as APEC and ASEAN. The main channels of involvement have been participation in and sponsorship of meetings, conferences and dialogues at the regional and international levels. Focus has sought to influence this process through research and analysis conveyed in extensive reports, books and other published works, speeches, conferences and the creation and maintenance of organisations, alliances and networks such as Council for Food security and Fair Trade in Southeast Asia.
