Organization Details
It has been ascertained that social and ecological youth NGOs and networks working on the Mediterranean region are not adequately represented by way of a regional youth network that would respond to the aims and objectives of their working fields. The establishment of MARE - Mediterranean Social-Ecological Youth Network is a follow-up to the "MEDITERRANEAN YOUTH FOR SUSTAINABILITY" Meeting, organised in Chios, Greece from August 23 to September 3, 2000, after an initiative of MEDITERRANEAN SOS Network, where 60 representatives of 45 participating environmental, social and cultural NGOs from Mediterranean countries decided upon its creation, declared its aims and objectives and voted upon its statutes.
