Hell's Gate National Park is a must-see for any visitor to Kenya. While it is not home to as many species of animals as the Masai Mara, the entire area is stunning. Visitors can bike down dusty roads lined with giraffes, zebras, buffalo and the occasional elephant. Hikers can take a trek through the gorge, climb major rock formations and explore nearby villages. Lake Naivasha is very close, and many excellent camp sites are situated on its shores. For those with some extra money, take a boat trip on the lake to see hippos, and explore the nearby savanna and Crater Lake. It is an accessible area to explore, as visitors can choose to bike, walk, or travel by bus or boat. Camping is inexpensive. It is a great place to spend a weekend.
