The Kijani Kenya Trust was set up in 2004 as a charitable organization to help the causes of conservation, combating HIV-Aids, and designing initiatives to bring economic development to Kenya. Every year Kijani puts on a music festival that lasts from roughly the 24th of February to the 4th of August.  The festival includes a number of shows and musical performances in a variety of different areas around the country. Performaces include an outdoor showing of Gershwin's Porgy & Bess in Hell's Gate National Park, Naivasha, as well as Jazz in the Park which takes place in the Nairobi arboretum.Â
