This is a beautiful, serene spot to see giant waterfalls in a tropical environment. Set aside a day to relax in nature and eat at the local restaurants. There are many boat companies offering pirogue rides across the river, and it is very safe. Many advise against swimming in the river, however, as animals and dangerous parasites are not uncommon.

There is a road inland, through the Littoral Evergreen Forest, as far as Lolodorf.
