Cape Coast Castle should be on every tourist's list. Its origins date back to 1653, when it was built by the Swedish. Later taken and improved by the British, in 1844 it became the main center for British administration in the Gold Coast. Its dungeons were used to hold slaves destined for the Americas. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.

I took the name "Sankofa" for my organization of artists: wich promote African culture to the young black descendent and this name came from watching a magic movie filmed in Cape Coast Castle...was the only time I went inside (through a movie) Hope to see it once with my own eyes; as a black descendent I born in Cuba but my heart is in Africa
