Gabarone Hotel & Casino in Gaborone, Botswana, is a bit of a sketchy place. It is located across the street from the main bus terminal and next door to a casino, sex workers hang out at the lobby bar and outside the entrance, and free condoms sit next to the television. The room was a somewhat expensive budget option ($50.00USD per night for a double) but the cable TV with loads of movie channels, terrific showers, clean and spacious rooms, and air-conditioning, made us feel that we were getting a fair value. Gabarone is spread out a bit, and this hotel is not in easy walking distance from much other than a simple grocery store, the station and a small market. With that said, it is easy and affordable to pick up a private taxi (they are readily accessible outside the hotel or at the station).
