Tumaini is a guesthouse/hostel outside city center of Nairobi. It is clean and comfortable, with some recent renovations improving conditions. Good meals are offered. Drawbacks include location - it is well outside downtown Nairobi and guests will either need to walk for about 45 minutes or catch one of the numerous busses or matatus heading down Ngong Rd. Showers and bathrooms are shared, and policies with regards to alcohol are strict. Gates are locked early for the night and dogs guard the property, so hotel guests do not have a great deal of freedom for night plans.
