The Urgent Action Fund is committed to a vision of human rights that is fully inclusive of the experiences and perspectives of women and girls. The Fund is both a grant maker and an initiator of programs, engaging in a range of activities to equip womens human rights activists with the resources necessary to respond to emerging conflict or crisis. Urgent Action Fund Africa was launched in Nairobi in August 2001.
