Organization Details
GPI aims to foster social justice and overcome gender prejudices by strengthening the capacity of adolescent girls and providing them with access to information about health and human rights. Prof. Bene Madunagu, co-founder and Chairperson of GPI, is an activist and grassroot campaigner for political, economic, social, sexual and reproductive health and rights of girls and women in particular. Active in numerous civil society organizations on gender and other issues, Bene is also an associate professor of botany at University of Calabar in Nigeria.
