Edwin James Barclay (1882-1955) was a Liberian politician. He served as President of the country from 1930 until 1944.
Much of what I read did happened during that time because my father told me similar story about President Barclay. The late Hilary B. Verdier said,"President Barclay resigned because he thought that William V.S. Tubman was young and could help shape Liberia Future." But instead chose to surpress his own people mainly those that we were in the opposition. He killed Coleman, made Twan Wleah to carry feaces through the streets of Monrovia and imprisoned others. Wm. Tubman the worst Liberian President ever lived. President Edwin Barclay was one of our brightest mind. His spirit still lives on in most of us who wants to see our country compete like during the Tolbert era. Thanks for the good work.
